I'm obsessed

One word, and one word only. I hear it and my mind goes insane. Listen carefully now. Phoenix. Did you hear it? Let me say it again. Phoenix. No not the bird. The band. I can't help it. I started listening to a few of their songs, and they put me in a trance.

Ugh the song Lisztomania is absolutely lovely. I just want to sit and listen to that song over and over until the end of time. They almost sound like the Beatles, but less all over the map...if you know what I mean. They have a specific sound that is almost unimaginable. They have other good songs like 1901 or If I ever Feel Better. All of their songs are greaaat.

GLEE:
Glee
Glee
Glee
Glee
Glee
I love Glee.
I love the characters
I LOVE THE MUSIC.
It's so good I don't understand why people would ever not like Glee.
The story line is so good and you never know what is going to happen next
It's funny
It's serious
It's heart warming
It's sad
It's musical.
Gleeks.

It's all about the fact that not everyone fits in in high school for what they like or how they act. I for one definitely know what it's like not to exactly fit in. I like what I like and I don't like what I don't like and I'm not going to put on a front for anyone. I don't care if it's in style or not I do what I want. I talk too much and think of weird things, and I normally laugh at the absolute worst times and I never know when to shut up. But I'm not going to say sorry for who I am. Now I am not a total outcast, I have friends and most people seem to like me, but some find me really really annoying, and I cannot help that so I don't dwell on it. I can also say I am definitely not original. I am literally a mix of everyone I've met. I take the things I like about people the most and apply them to myself. I don't mean to, but I do it constantly. Glee shows people that it's okay to be yourself and that you don't have to put on a show.

Big Bang Theory is on eeeek

So you can see that book right? That book that is right in front of my face. It's sort of green and has a picture of Mark Twain on the front. Yeah that is the book The Innocents Abroad. My grandpa got it for me when he found out that I liked to read. It is one of the most boring books on earth. I tried to read it about five times, but it was so bland that I put it on a shelf and let it sit there. Well I didn't want to get rid of it after my grandpa died because I wanted something to remind me of him so I decided to use it for something that will keep it with me more.
Photobucket
So I turned it into a Kindle Holder. =) Great right? And before you say, "So you ruined a book." I'll say "I'll buy the book on my Kindle, and I'll be using the book a whole lot more this way. All I did was cut out a kindle sized rectangle out of some of the pages, Modge Podged (a sort of glue) them together, and sat heavy books on it so the pages would flatten out.
Super easy and I love that you almost can't tell that there is a kindle in it.
Photobucket
Almost.
Too bad I am definitely not patient or anything that resembles it so It's kinda messy and not even. But if you take time on it, it could look really super cool.
I absolutely love my kindle. It's small so I can just put it in my purse, but it's not fragile so I have to worry about it breaking all the time (I'm still super careful with it though) There is only two downsides that I have experienced from it. One, it doesn't show the page number you are on, and two you can't read it in the dark. But that is literally the only things I can find wrong with it. I love reading off of it and it makes getting books sooooo easy. I would definitely recommend it for anyone who likes to read. (p.s. all the classics are free which is a mega bonus)
So I have to go because my grandmother wants me to do the dishes. Yay
Just keep swimming

Flower Child, DCFC

Photobucket So I have a button in my hair. Mostly because of star wars. When Anakin Skywalker was younger he had one really long braid behind his ear. Now I know he didn't have a button or even a bead, but he did have multicolored bands and I thought the button was a way to make it a little more myself. When I first put the button in I got so many funky looks from people in school, or people would just stare because they couldn't figure out how to do it. Only the people who knew me asked what the heck was in my hair, and they people who didn't know me would ask the people who knew me.
When I was first getting use to it I would forget they were in my hair and shake my head super hard and they would hit me in the face or poke me in the eye.
I've always wanted to make a how-to

Photobucket
All you need is a super cute button and a rubberband

Photobucket
Step 1. Find a place on your head that you want the button, get a small piece of hair and braid it until there is about two inches of hair left. (obviously if you want a bigger braid, you take more hair to braid)

Photobucket
Step 2. Wet the end of your hair so it will easier to work with. Thread it through the first hole just like you would a needle and thread. Make sure to pull up to the braid so there isn't any hairs sticking out all over.
Photobucket
Step 3. Twist the part that is sticking out of the button and thread it through the other side. If there is a lot of hairs sticking out and they look all gross just keep pulling, they should straighten out.

Photobucket
Step 4. Rubber band it fool.
Photobucket

Done!
It's super easy but I don't know how many times I've been asked how I did it.
I love the way it looks, even with straight hair.

I guess I looked like a hippie today, because my Government teacher kept calling me a flower child. It made me laugh.

So I'd have to say that Death Cab for Cutie is definitely my favorite band. Their music is soft and easy. Most of it is slower like the song Lack of Color. It is smooth and low and so easy to listen to, it is the perfect song to lie on the beach and listen to. If you are going to take a nap, it lullabies you to sleep. Other songs have faster beats and make you want to dance like Little Bribes. Whenever I hear that song it makes me want to wiggle. I love all of their songs and they definitely give a variety. Ben Gibbard's voice is so amazing, you never want to stop listening.

So my computer is dying.
Stupid Mac.

Moby Dick, and Battle L.A.

I am currently taking a class called Novels. All you do in this class is read books off of a pre-approved reading list. The first book I read was Wuthering Heights, a gothic novel about obsessive love. It was good, and even though there were some parts I would rather not have read, I would deffinitely suggest it to anyone. The second book I read was Moby Dick. A book about living on the sea and trying to catch a legendary fish? Yessir, sounds good to me! Accept that there was barely any action. Ninety percent of the book is talking about the anatomy of a whale. The tail, the spout, the head, the bones were just a few of the subjects that filled WHOLE CHAPTERS. If you are into that sort of thing fine cool read it, but to me the story was dry and didn't have a lot of things going on. SPOILER! And I thought okay, there was one pretty good chapter, all they can do now is kill the white whale and then it'd be a moderately good book. Yeah, nope. Everyone dies except Ishmael (the narrator) Everyone. Even Queequeg, my favorite character who was a heroic cannibal from a small island. Now you may be thinking "Who are you to say that Moby Dick was terrible? It's a classic, everyone has heard of it!" That is a very good question, I mean I'm only 16 (almost 17), I don't have any degrees, I dont make a living off of this, but I have read many books. I thought To Kill a Mocking Bird was great, I read 1984 when I was in 8th grade and even though I didn't grasp everything George Orwell was trying to get across, it was still better than Moby Dick. I am also a very light critic. I normally don't have anything bad to say about books or movies because I can see the good parts in most things more than the bad parts, but there wasn't many good parts in Moby Dick.

This weekend I went to see the movie Battle L.A. I am not big into the scary type of movies (which I'm pretty sure this movie doesn't fall into this category, more of a thriller but I was still scared most of the time) but I thought this was a pretty good movie. It was constant action, which is always a good thing, and there were even parts of it that were funny which is good in any movie. The guys were all easy on the eyes and the intense parts were intense, the sad parts were sad, and the funny parts were funny. The movie isn't for people who can't follow a plot or for anyone with a week stomache. The only bad things I could say about this movie is that Small Spoiler: you could never get a good look at the aliens. When I was first watching, I thought they looked like robots, but when they were hacking one open, it looked like a nasty fleshy octopus. I was thouroughly confused. It was a little bit predictable, but not so much that you you could guess what was going to happen next.
I was going to talk about my kindle...but I don't have time, so I'll save it for next time. Aye Aye Capp'n

My blog about everything

This is the start of my blog about everything. Everything I encounter, anything I read, any new bands I hear, I want a place I can talk about it. Friends are cool to talk to and all, but maybe I don't want them to know about a certain band because I want it all for myself. I know that sounds selfish, but we all need those things.
So to start of this first blog, I'll talk about Magic.
 Magic: The Gathering card back
Not magic like wave a wand magic (even though that is totally kick ass) Magic the gathering, the game. Yes mostly nerdy boys play (aka my brothers) but I wanted to learn, so my sister's boyfriend taught me. It took about an hour to explain most of the basics, but I got it down. I remember everything by connecting it with something else I know about. A lot of it was connected to Harry Potter because there are enchantments and such. Now I know how to play and I feel totally badass. Except the part where I totally suck and never have actually won and always have to ask questions. It's fun though, you have to think ahead and look at the other person's cards and it's a lot of thinking. I remember when I was little and I'd watch my brothers play I thought the cards were pretty, except the ones that were hideous beast, those freaked me out. My sister told me that she asked our oldest brother to teach her how to play and he said that it was blasphemy to teach a girl how to play Magic.
I want to do everything. I want to shoot guns, I want to ride motorcycles, I want to snowboard (or at least attempt to do these things) I want to try everything I can because I want my life to be interesting and I want to be able to tell people about everything I've done, and magic is just the beginning of it.
